Trip Introduction

Makalu (8481m) is the fifth highest summit in the world, and the Makalu Base Campo Trek is an opportunity to reach the abs camp and explore the pyramid shaped beauty of the Makalu mastiff. The trek is the most popular amongst solitary trekkers and the opportunity to explore snow called landscapes, ethnic Himalayan lifestyle as well as high altitude terrains. Asian Alpine Trek and Expedition is a perfect choice for you to explore the trekking journey to the base camp of Makalu Base Camp.

The journey begins with a flight to Tumlingtar. The lower reaches of the trail are filled with lush and verdant rhododendron forests. The upper reaches of the trek, however, offer dry, arid granite cliffs and hanging glacier views, providing the perfect contrast of topography that Nepal is so famous for. Overflowing with waterfalls, the Makalu Base Camp trek is an ideal choice for trekkers who seek solace, tranquility, pristine  natural beauty and the chance to explore the lifestyle of the ethnic inhabitants in the region.

Trek across the Shipton La (4229m) and reach the south side of Makalu, explore rare hidden Kangshung Face of the Everest and explore the remoteness and exquisite mountain scenery of the Makalu Region with the approximately 3 weeks journey.
