Located in the Nepal-Tiber border, Mt. Pumori stands tall at a height of 7,161m. Just 8km away from the mighty Everest (8,848m), the route to the peak is similar. We fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek via Namche Bazar. Located in the Khumbu region, the journey to the peak includes the view of other Eastern Himalayas including Everest, Kanchanjunga (8,586m), Cho Oyu (8,150m), Lhotse ( and many others. We also pass Kala Pathhar for the panoramic view of the hidden face of Everest.
Known for its distinct pyramid shape towering above Kala Pathhar (5,545m) anyone who has travelled in the eastern region will remember Mt. Pumori for its unique shape. The chance to scale the unique looking Pumori Peak is an experience that will be remembered by thrill seekers for a long time to come.
Regarded as one of the most popular peak to climb in 7,000m mountains, this will be a great practice before you attempt 8,000m mountains. The technical difficulty is high and prior experience is advised. The estimate days to complete this expedition is 35 days with 12 days reserved for climbing from Pumori Base Camp (5,300m) to the summit and back. Since you will stay a lot in a very high altitude, acclimatization plays a great role in the success. Rocky steeps, snowy wind and icy cliffs will pose a hindrance however when you reach the summit and watch the sun shining and reflecting on the Everest, there would not be a better satisfaction.
Our expert group of climbers will be at your disposal, providing all the necessary gears and equipment to put to the end of the journey. However, we do recommend that climbers would have prior experience in using mountaineering equipment and have prior experience in rope and rock climbing to make the best out of this journey.
