Sunkoshi, or the ‘River of Gold’ flows down the snowcapped mountains of the Himalayan range and Maharbharat range and is considered one of the top ten rafting rivers in the world. The unpredictability of Sunkoshi makes it one of the most adventurous river and numerous people come down to raft in this tranquil river for the very reason which sets it apart from others.
The 9-daysSunkoshi river rafting is perfect for those who seekchallenges in waves. This 270km long river rafting is rated as grade 4-5. Although at the initial we encounter many class 2-3 rapids, as you pass through tough rapids like Meat Grinder (Class 4-), Harkapur I/II (Class 5-), High Anxiety(Class 4-)whose difficulty shows in their names. Jungle Corridor has water flowing at 400 cumecs while at the end at Chatra, the water current is at a whooping 800cumecs. As you descend down the river, the rapids becomes more technical and challenging giving you enough time to practice at the high grounds earlier on.

We start by driving to Dolalghat from Kathmandu. After a 3 hour drive we reach TarangGaon- our starting point. Throughout of 7-days of rafting, we cross various locations like Harkapur Village, RaiGhat, BanderGhat and reach Chatara where wewill end our rafting tripanddrive back to Kathmandu.
