Trip Introduction

Nicknamed the ‘Raging River’ Marsyangdi River is not to be underestimated. With the continuous and exhilarating waters, strong current that it throws at you are relentless. The waves after waves of class 3 and 4 rapids that this river throws at you will push you to your limits. This 5 days rafting in the backdrop of the majestic mountains is one in the life time opportunities for you.


Just recently opened for commercial rafting much of the rapids are yet unnamed. However, for those that are named like Instant Karma, Adrenaline, Mama’s Big Butt, the name says it all. Overall the rafting is rated as Grade 4-5. Optimal time for venturing in to this river would be October- December or February – May.


Marsyangdi River rafting is a 47km long rafting in the deep water of the raging river. Itrequires 5 days of tough maneuver as you pass through beautiful forests with exquisite mountain scenery at the background. Add that together with the thrilling rapids and you now have the most memorable trip of your lifetime. After a 9 hours long drive to BesiSahar from Kathmandu we hike to Khudi. After further trekking to our put in point Bulbule, we start our rafting adventure. From Bulbule we raft all the way through crystal blue water and jungle. The rapids grow as we proceed and rafting over the strong current we reach to PhaliyaSanghu. Here, the river runs between narrow walls below a 200ft suspension bridge.At the end, the water becomes calm and we reach Bimal Nagar our ending point. We drive back to Kathmandu from here.
